Have you filed a complaint with Lieven de Key?

If so, you will receive a call from us within 2 business days to discuss the complaint and find a solution. If you cannot resolve the issue with Lieven de Key, you can then escalate the complaint to the Disputes Committee.

The Disputes Committee consists of five indepedent individuals who do not work for Lieven de Key. They will assess your complaint along with Lieven de Key's standpoint and provide an advisory opinion.

Step 1: Submit the dispute in writing

You can find the conditions under which the Disputes Committee will handle the complaint in Articles 4 and 5 of the dispute regulations. You can submit a dispute by letter or via email.

Step 2: You will receive confirmation of receipt from the Disputes Committee

The Disputes Committee will send an confirmation of receipt and inform you about the next steps.

Step 3: A hearing with the Disputes Committee will be scheduled

Once the Disputes Committee has received the necessary information, you will receive an invitation to attend the hearing. The hearing will be attended by 3 members of the Disputes Committee: a secretary, and a representative from Lieven de Key. During the hearing, you will have the opportunity to explain your complaint and the Committee members may ask you questions. Lieven de Key will also have the chance to answer questions. The hearing will last no longer than one hour.

You and Lieven de Key will receive the advisory opinion of the Disputes Committee within 3 weeks after the hearing.

Step 4: The management of Lieven de Key will make a decision

No later than 4 weeks after the advice of the disputes committee you will receive the decision of the management of Lieven de Key.

Are you not satisfied with the advice of the Disputes Committee or the decision of the management of Lieven de Key? Then you can do the following:

1. Do you rent social housing?

Then you can take your complaint to the rent assessment committee. The rent assessment committee is an impartial organization that prevents, helps resolve or gives an official ruling on disputes between social housing tenants and landlords. The verdict of the rent commission is therefore binding for you and Lieven de Key. Visit the website of the rent commission for more information.

2. Do you rent a house in the free sector, business space or parking lot?
Then you can file an objection with the subdistrict court by starting an emergency procedure (summary proceedings).
